Sunset at the Old Antioch Boat Launch

By Photographer Kimberly Adams

I've taken this shot before but didn't quite get the same results as Kimberly did. Nice job Kimberly. She is a member of the Antioch Photography Club. Photo tip (1) when you see "good clouds" it's a good day to take landscape photos.

Support Your Local Community Museum

All museums are staffed by volunteers (docents). I have lived in Antioch, Byron, Oakley and Pittsburg. Although I am an East County kind a guy. I grew up in Antioch. I graduated from Antioch High School this is where my heart is.

There are, and I have been to, the Pittsburg Museum and the East Contra Costa Historical Museum in Brentwood. They all need our support. There are many ways to help, from a few hours a week, a month or a year to making a much needed donation. Whatever you can do.

Please visit the museum closest to your heart. Chat with the people that are working there. Express your willingness to help.

Pittsburg Historical Society

I had a couple hours on Saturday. I visited "the library room" in Antioch. There was a bound volume open on a table. It was issues of the Antioch Ledger newspaper from April 1949. I spent the next couple hours going through two weeks of newspapers. I took some photos that caught my eye.
