The Drama Factory presents an original play, “The Tale of Basim the Blacksmith & his Battle of Wits with the Shah of Isfahan,” written by John Ballesteros adapted from an age-old Persian tale.
The play is fun and colorful harking back to the days of Aladdin full of music and laughter. As the story goes, Basim is a happy man who wants nothing more than to be able to feast every evening with his friends, singing and dancing. When the Shah is in disguise he discovers that Basim will stop at nothing to make his festivities happen. What obstacles will the Shah put in his path?
Performances are at July 22 at 7:30 p.m.
The play is at Nick Rodriguez Theatre, 213 F St.,
Admission is $10 (adults), $8 (seniors).
Free admission for anyone 55 and older on July 16. All are welcome to attend, but seniors get in free.
