Park your car, get on the bus and prepare to chow down! The 3rd Annual Pride of the Delta Restaurant Tour was on! Since it was my first time, I really didn't know what to expect but I came hungry. I anticipated that 15 minutes at eight restaurants in four hours might be a bit frenetic but not so. Tri Delta Transit provided shuttles for the more than 200 hungry participants to and from each restaurant and we discovered we were able to linger here and there and still not have to wait long for a bus to the next stop.

The first stop we chose was Kelly's. Great for elegant, romantic dining. We were served samples of Cheese Tortollinis with Basil and Sun-dried Tomato Pesto Sauce; Breast of Chicken with Mushroom-Marsala Sauce; and Roast Pork Saratoga with Honey Stone- ground Mustard Sauce. I liked that the samples were labeled. The service was elegant in a romantically decorated, cozy but spacious, room.

Then on to the air-conditioned bus on this beautiful sunny day. The bus drivers were cheerful, happy to be making overtime pay no doubt. Tri Delta provided six buses for the event. Next stop, La Plaza. Rice, Beans and awesome Enchiladas; delectable Chicken in Mole Sauce ?, we guessed. It was self-service but no one left hungry.
