I was concerned that it might be a little too "warmish" for this guy to be out hiking around today on a photo safari and stopped at the wrong place. The core group went on ahead to the parks "official" meeting area and started without me. I mistakenly had stopped, just inside the gate, at the ranger station and started taking pictures and talking to staff. Did you know it takes 20 rangers to officiate the parks' 13,000 acres of trails? BLACK DIAMOND REGIONAL PARK has been a State Park since 1977. I was surprised to see how many people were out there for a hot Wednesday night. There was a traveling 16 year old soccer team doing some training, some army recruits, a gal getting ready to climb Half Dome and some locals giving a tour to some out of town relatives. I didn't run into any members of our group until the end of the day. I saw some of their pictures and heard about their travels and was kind of glad I missed them, they covered some ground. I focused on finding beauty in the "lowlands" and had a swell time. I had no idea how tense I was when I got out there. I was all chilled out, after about an hour, of taking pictures. Looking for beauty and finding it all around was just what I needed to unwind. I'm thinking next month I'd like to go to a golf course and take pictures. There's beauty everywhere out there. Thanks, Alicia G. for suggesting Black Diamond Mines I'm glad I got to see it. I can't wait to see yours' and Jaqui's photos.
