The most fun way to start off the New Year in east county is to attend Bethel Island Frozen Bun Run! This was the 25th year the Bethel Island Chamber of Commerce has organized this event which is hosted, on the dock, at the Rusty Porthole Restaurant. Approximately 35 skiers braved the cold water for about 400 enthusiastic spectators. The best way to enjoy this event is to jump on the breakfast, grab a bloody mary and cheer the skiers on from a warm seat. See the 2005 Frozen Bun Run Photo Gallery!.
