The Christmas Parade in Brentwood started at 3:30 PM and I was late. I parked in the west lot, at Liberty High School and saw what I presumed was the beginning of the parade "turning-for-home" in front of the old city park. I took a few pictures and proceeded down Oak St. (not on the parade route) to get to First St. and the beginning of the parade route. I like the vantage point there plus I'm near the 760 Cigar Lounge and Sweeney's Grill and Bar. I took most of my pictures there and when Santa passed, about 5PM I was ready for a break and chose Sweeney's to stop in, they have good Scotch and a patio where I could smoke my cigar in peace and relax. I started getting hungry and thought the bar at CAP'S RESTAURANT was my best choice for dining alone tonight. CAP'S was packed but Bill, Elaine and Jimmy Karadais, CAP'S owners, all said hello and welcomed me back like family. I had the Veal Scaloppini, it was excellent, and finished with an espresso for the long walk back to the truck. Driving home, I was feeling fat and happy and reflected on the days events, old friends I'd seen, new friends I hope to see again, and felt some of that Christmas spirit coming over me, perfect.
