Welcome to our PHOTO GALLERY of the 2003 Flor Do Oro Oakley Festa, in Oakley, CA. The event honors Queen Isabel, of Portugal, who prayed to the Holy Ghost for food during a great famine. One of the traditions of this event is to feed anyone who shows up, sopas, a soup with beef, french bread and mint. The event has a family reunion feel to it with many old timers, now, having attended the festa since they were little kids. You don't have to be Portuguese to attend and appreciate this event. Thanks to everyone who made me feel like a member of this big happy family event.
