A couple of things caught my eye in today's SPOTLIGHT. The MUDDY ROSES SHOW, FREE ICE SKATING, the FREE CHOIR & ORCHESTRA performance and FRANKIE G playing Sunday @ Smith's Landing.
No SPOTLIGHT on Monday it's VETERANS DAY. As a Navy brat, (son of a career sailor), I was on many Naval bases and ships. I've met and talked to many service people. I've always admired and appreciated their dedication to duty and country. I have nothing but respect for them. It saddens me to think of all the young people that fought and lost all they had to give to defend this country. Going to the Antioch celebration (see details below) is a great way to pay tribute to them.
Sidebar, this event typically gets many high school bands to come and play. I like seeing today's kids, in uniform, paying their respects to our service people, very respectively, in this way. Thank you, Martha Parsons, for all you do to make this a fine tribute.
