(l) Joe Olenchalk and (r) Tom Menasco

One of the reasons why I hangout at the Antioch Historical Society Museum is because I run into old geezers like these two. Joe taught science and coached track at Antioch High School. Tom worked for the City and has always been a guy "that makes things happen." These are two of Antioch's finest and I'm glad to know them both. Stop by the museum and get involved. You will be glad you did.

The Antioch Historical Museum, 1500 W. 4th St., Antioch. Open 1 PM - 4 PM every Weds & Sat. Admission is free. Are you interested in local history? Do you have old photos or artifact you'd like to share? Would you like to host an event on the museum grounds? Kitchen, BBQ, and banquet room available. Make your next special event historical. Contact the museum (925) 757-1326. Cheaysck out "Where Antioch Heroes Live."

Brentwood Lighted Christmas Parade Saturday Nov 19th

I am so torn. This is the best parade in East County (maybe its the lights) and I don't think I can be there this year. This is two hours of joy. Instead I will be sweating it out at Antioch High School watching the Panthers in the second round of the NCS/Les Schwab Tires Football Championships. Now I understand I maybe be able to watch the game on my phone which puts me at parade and the Mannheim Social Club (after the parade) for the Tebo Howlin Wolf Blues Show. Decisions, decisions thank goodness I'm thinking about this early.

Antioch High School vs California

Saturday Nov 19th @ 7:00 PM @ Antioch High School

The Panther's did good last Friday winning against the San Ramon Valley Wolves 29-17. So Antioch running back Najee Harris gets to run again this Saturday against the California Grizzlies of San Ramon. It's a home game. It's not the Foothill Falcons this year that has knocked the Panthers out of the tournament the last two years. Should the Panther's prevail they will go on the road for the championship game next week. Freedom & Pittsburg had the best records in the league an are in the OPEN DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP while Antioch & Heritage are playing playing for the DIVISION 1 CHAMPIONSHIP. Go East County. Let's bring both championships home.

Follow your local team... Antioch | Deer Valley | Freedom | Heritage | Liberty | Pittsburg
