SJYC Parade of Lights & Santa ~ Bethel Island
550 Riverview Pl,
Bethel Island
A longtime Bethel Island tradition, the Christmas Lighted Boat Parade returns for its 28th year, hosted by the San Joaquin Yacht Club. This community celebration brings together decorated boats, cheering spectators, and a night of festive lights circling the island.
Santa arrives at the Yacht Club at 4:30 p.m. to hand out wrapped gifts provided by parents for children attending. Dinner is served at 5 p.m. for guests staying to watch the parade from the club.
Boats depart at 5:30 p.m., travel north under the Bethel Island Bridge, follow Taylor Slough, circle the island, and return to SJYC for awards and celebration. Winners are chosen by the public from viewing spots at The Rusty Porthole and Sugar Barge.
Island residents often host family and friends along the route, cheering from their docks as the parade passes by. It’s one of Bethel Island’s most beloved community nights.
All are welcome.
