Laughs for Change Brings Comedy, Storytelling and Community Fundraising to Richmond
RCF Connects returns to Richmond with the 2nd Annual Laughs for Change on Thursday, August 6 at The Galileo Club — a high-energy night of comedy, storytelling and community fundraising benefiting equity and fair housing-focused programs in Contra Costa County.
The evening features headliners Marga Gomez, Diane Amos and Beau Davis, with Bay Area storyteller Kimberlli Joy serving as host. The event also includes Stories of the Bay, an open mic showcase featuring local comedians, storytellers, poets and singer-songwriters performing five-minute sets.
Audience members can vote for their favorite open mic performer by donating dollars throughout the night, with proceeds supporting RCF Connects’ community programs. Tickets are $50 and include food catered by A Mother’s Touch. Open mic applications are now open.
RCF Connects has served Contra Costa County for 26 years through equity-focused community programs and donor-supported initiatives. The event is presented with support from title sponsor Kaiser Permanente.
